An Atlanta-based Applebee's franchisee has filed for bankruptcy, leading to restaurant closures inGeorgia and Florida.
Neighborhood Restaurant Partners Florida filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on March 24 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia, citing financial challenges and rising operating costs.
Court documents show the company has between $10 million and $50 million in liabilities.

Which Georgia locations are affected?
Among the closures tied to the filing is an Applebee's location in Albany, at 637 Westover Blvd., which no longer appears on the franchisee's list of operating restaurants. It's the only Georgia location listed as closing.
Why the company filed for bankruptcy
According to court filings, the franchisee experienced strong performance in the early 2010s after acquiring dozens of locations, but sales began to decline after 2015.
The company cited several challenges, including:
- The COVID-19 pandemic
- Inflation and rising operating costs
- Unsuccessful business strategies and promotions
Executives said these factors contributed to ongoing financial strain.
How many restaurants are still operating?
As of late March, the franchisee operated 53 Applebee's locations, down from a higher number after multiple closures in 2025 and early 2026.
